Dongpo: in the Human World

"Dongpo: In the World" is a novel of more than 400,000 words. It takes the ups and downs of Su Shi's life as the main line. Through the dual-line narrative structure of "entering the world" and "coming out of the world", it completely presents the sixty-six years of this Song Dynasty literary giant from a boy in Meishan to an old man in Changzhou. The novel uses history as its bones, emotions as its flesh, and poetry as its soul. It naturally embeds Su Shi's more than 300 poems in his life into the plot, restoring the heart of a real person who "did not get lost at the highest place and did not fall at the lowest place." The last chapter of the work extends the narrative to a thousand years later, allowing Dongpo's spirit to meet the hearts of contemporary readers, completing an echo across time.
