The Outcast: Heir to the Tang Clan’s Lightning Arts

“My name is Tang Chen. Tang as in Tang Sect, Chen as in mortal dust.”

“I don’t have any special talents. I just borrowed Zhang Chulan’s physique when I was five, then learned Zhang Huaiyi’s lightning techniques in the back mountains.”

He is the most prized disciple of Zhang Wang, the head of the Tang Sect’s outer branch, an expert in the Flash Step, poison miasma, and hidden weapons.

He is also the deepest hidden card Zhang Huaiyi put in place before his death, keeping the lightning techniques and Golden Light tucked away in his heart, never revealing a trace.

In the eyes of the Tang Sect disciples, he is a deep, frigid pool whose very breathing is oppressive. In Zhang Chulan’s eyes, he is “Brother Chen,” his childhood friend who is impossible to read.

The Luotian Grand Ceremony begins, and heroes from every direction gather at Mount Longhu.

Tang Chen dusted himself off and left the mountains of Shu with his junior sister, Taotao.

“Where are we going?” Taotao asked.

“To see an old friend who’s hard to kill.” A faint golden arc of electricity flickered across Tang Chen’s fingertips. “And to collect a few old debts on behalf of the old man who taught me lightning techniques.”
