This is the life of a Chinese farmer and the collective life of hundreds of millions of fathers. From the loess land in eastern Henan to the construction site in Wuhan, Chen Gensheng spent 61 years enduring famine, wage arrears, and contempt, and spent all his resources to help his children get out of the farm.
