The Idle Wanderer Hides His Edge

In the Xuancang Domain, Die Lan City clings to the mountains. Its buildings hang from sheer cliffs, while clouds and mist linger in its streets all year round.

Su Yan Yong spends his days reclining in a bamboo chair on the old street, drinking tea and enjoying his leisure. He loves watching the commotion and teasing crickets. Everyone else laughs at him as a lazy, mediocre man with no ambition.

No one knows that the young man was born with the innate origins of the five elements. He has mastered the transformations of Taiji and the arts of feng shui and reading qi. But his power remains unstable, so he has kept a low profile for years, following the principle of staying out of trouble and avoiding needless conflict.

The young heirs of the Ling clan throw their weight around, repeatedly bullying their neighbors. After they provoke and harass him again and again, the laid-back young man has no choice but to step in and help.

By day, he is lazy and drowsy, and sometimes he wanders about strangely at night. He may seem carefree and flippant, but beneath the surface he is calculating and skilled at scheming.

Trouble gradually spreads through the small city, while more and more figures watch from the shadows. Long-buried events slowly come to light.

Moving through the world as a casual wanderer, he keeps his true abilities hidden until he has no other choice. With every step, he grows stronger and pierces the fog, traveling from the lanes of a small city to the vast expanses of Canglan. Concealing his edge and biding his time, he eventually draws on his deep reserves to quell the storms of the world.
