Dragon Banter System

Synopsis of Tales from the Dragon Gate

In Jinguancheng, Shuzhou, Chen Jiu'an is a down-on-his-luck storyteller with a good-for-nothing spiritual root. His parents have disappeared, and his only talent is telling stories in the local style. Unfortunately, even the teahouse patrons think he sounds like he's chanting scriptures.

Then one day, he unexpectedly activates the Storytelling System.

From then on, telling Sichuan-style stories makes him stronger, and every tale he spins helps him level up. In the teahouse, he smacks his clapper and launches into a Sichuan-dialect version of The Legend of the Coolies, earning thunderous applause. Onstage, his face-changing act unveils six masks and leaves geniuses from every corner stunned. He uses the tea ceremony to set up formations, summons characters from operas through Sichuan opera, refines hot pot into pills, and uses mahjong to divine fortune and misfortune. A thousand years of Shuzhou culture becomes his path to cultivation.

The young master of the Zhao family humiliates him in public? One cup of spicy Miaojiang tea has the man dancing in the street. A Golden Core elder comes to wreck his place? A tea-sword formation traps him until he questions his whole life. The cold-faced sword cultivator Su Wanqing claims she can't stand him, yet comes to listen to his stories every night. The mischievous Miaojiang girl A Youduo insists on calling him big brother. His sworn brother Tieniu takes on the world with a bamboo pole, while his rival Liu Sanbian goes from enemy to confidant.

But the better his stories get, the bigger his troubles become. Ghost Hand Liu uses forbidden arts to steal souls and frame him, while the Outsider Word Demon, which feeds on the destruction of civilizations, sets its sights on every story in the Nine Continents. Only then does Chen Jiu'an understand: a storyteller doesn't just protect the little stage in his teahouse, but also the spark of civilization across all worlds.

Watch as this storyteller with a Sichuan flair uses his tongue, a wooden clapper, and a heart brimming with fiery passion to rise from a teahouse attendant to a sage of storytelling who stirs up the world!
