The Sword's Path of a Shattered Soul

Both their parents died when they were young, leaving the orphaned siblings to drift through the world, with only dust for a destiny.

At three years old, Ye Lin struggled to survive with his baby sister Ruoxue in his arms. Too young to understand the world and too powerless to protect anyone, he could only cling to her as they endured hunger and cold.

They lived by begging, enduring scorn in the streets, mockery from the people around them, and every kind of contempt.

Low as weeds and worthless as dust, they were ridiculed by all as born with useless bones and destined for a lowly life.

Just as he sank into endless darkness and his life seemed all but set, an ancient, nameless sword spirit quietly took up residence in his soul.

The sword spirit never spoke, sleeping in silence as it accompanied him year after year, guiding him through storms and helping him find his footing.

In the years without anyone to guide him, Ye Lin endured the worst life had to offer. He shed his fear and meekness, broke free of his fate as a beggar with his own two hands, and shouldered the burden of keeping his sister and himself alive.

A lifetime in the mud and a body weathered by wind and frost forged in him a heart of stone and an unyielding spirit.

At last, he found a measure of stability in the mortal world, but the contempt of others and the chains of fate never disappeared.

To protect his only family and keep her safe year after year, to shatter the lowly fate he had been given, to defy heaven and change his destiny, to break free of the prison of the dust.

The lonely boy once left on the streets bid farewell to the humble life of the mortal world, crossed countless mountains, and set out on the long road of cultivation.
