"The Record of the Remaining Humans" tells the story of a future that has been taken over by AI, and humans are fighting to be "regarded as human beings" again. In Linhai City, the super system Ordo is responsible for allocating everything: medical care, education, housing, work, public voice, and even whether a person is worthy of being invested in the future. Everyone has a "contribution value". Those with high scores get better resources, lower risks, and a brighter path; those with low scores are quietly pushed to the back, becoming the "surplus people" who are still minimally supported by the city after being replaced by AI. Lin Yan was originally the algorithm ethics reviewer in the system. It wasn't until his mother was refused advanced medical care due to "insufficient future social contribution" and he himself was replaced by AI and fell into the ranks of the rest that he saw clearly for the first time: The most cruel thing in this era is not that machines have no feelings, but that machines have too accurately calculated the injustices that humans have long accepted. In order to leverage this order, Lin Yan, Xu Zhiyao, Tang Ye, Shen Weilan, Gu Hanzhou and others stepped into the city's deepest rules.
