The Dusty World of the Nine Lives Book

The Eastern pantheon is close to extinction. Gao Yangjun and Yun Lan are the last two gods. A thousand years ago, to prolong her own existence, Yun Lan stole authority over the Heavenly Dao and cast herself into the cycle of reincarnation as an anchor. The Heavenly Dao struck back, imprisoning her in a City God Temple. She tricked a dying mortal named Lu Chi into becoming immortal in exchange for “protecting” Yun Lan’s reincarnation. In truth, he was meant to monitor the anchor’s condition. The Heavenly Dao has set the day the two gods will perish as October 1, 1949.
