Lu Zhishen Transmigrates into The Outcast

In life, I never cultivated virtue; I loved nothing but killing and arson. Suddenly, I broke free of the golden cord and snapped the jade lock. Ah! The tide rolls in on the Qiantang River. Today, at last, I know who I am. Lu Zhishen passed away at Hangzhou’s Liuhe Temple on the fifteenth day of the eighth month. Though he “followed the tide away,” he did not return to Heaven as the Heavenly Solitary Star. Instead, his consciousness transmigrated to another world, where he was reborn as an infant in Dongshan Province. He gave himself a new name: Zhang Jingchen. He thought to himself: My past life has all passed like clouds. In this life, I’ll live by a different code. But Zhang Jingchen only wanted to do good deeds and cultivate virtue, until he realized something was off. I can cultivate, and use merit to improve my strength? Then I can set my sights higher. I’ll right the wrongs of the mortal world and mend the crooked hearts of society! I’ll become an immortal, become a Buddha, attain the Dao, and ascend to true enlightenment!
