The early autumn wind, wrapped in the unique smell of ink from old books, slipped in through the cracks in the wooden door of Xiangyang Bookstore and landed on Chen Mo's open palm. He was helping Zhao Yang organize a batch of newly collected old magazines. When his fingertips ran across the yellowed pages, he heard a soft knock at the door - it was Xu Nian coming. She is still the same, wearing an off-white sweater, with a rolled-up poetry collection stuffed in her canvas bag. When she enters the door, she first smiles at Zhao Yang behind the counter, and then turns to look at Chen Mo. When her eyes scan the top of the bookshelf, she pauses for two seconds unconsciously. Chen Mo knew that there was a small window facing the attic in that direction, and there were still a few shallow marks on the window sill. They were dug out with his fingernails when he was hiding in the attic when he was twelve years old. "Which area are you organizing today?" Xu Nian put down his bag and reached for the bottom cardboard box. His cuffs slipped down, revealing a thin silver chain on his wrist. The pendant was in the shape of a mini book page. Chen Mo couldn't hold back and stretched out his hand to help her drag out the carton. His fingertips brushed the back of her hand, as if touching a piece of warm tissue paper. "The attic hasn't been cleared yet. Let's go up and have a look later?" Zhao Yang's voice came from behind the counter, still holding the newly calculated bill in his hand.
