There Is True Cultivation in the Cracks of Chaos

The alchemy and martial arts in Xuanyuan Continent are naturally opposed to each other. Alchemy requires extremely refined mental power to control fire and purify medicinal properties, and requires monks to have a calm mind; martial arts requires violent energy and blood to wash away the body and break through barriers, and requires monks to have a surging heart. Practicing the two at the same time will lead to "spiritual tearing": when practicing elixirs, the energy and blood surge and explode, and when practicing martial arts, the spirit is scattered and misfires. Therefore, the mainland was forcibly divided into the "Dan Domain" and the "Martial Domain", separated by a "forbidden wall", and the two domains were hostile to each other. Danyu calls martial arts cultivators "barbarians", while Wuyu calls Dan cultivators "weak chickens" and jointly set up a "law enforcement team". Once a "double cultivator" is discovered, all cultivation will be directly abolished and thrown into the "chasm" of the forbidden cultivation wall. Shen Ye established the "Guiyuan Academy" at the original site of the Forbidden Cultivation Wall to teach the dual cultivation of Dan and Wu. From now on, Xuanyuan Continent no longer has the distinction between the alchemy domain and the martial arts domain. Monks can practice both alchemy and martial arts, opening a new era in which "alchemy and martial arts come from the same source". Shen Ye was also revered as the "Guiyuan Supreme" and became a legend spanning two realms.
