The Incense Demon

Amid the roar of steam engines, foreign rifles and heavy cannons blasted open the gates of Puxi City.

The old order collapsed overnight, and an entirely new underworld suddenly came into being.

The times were turbulent and full of opportunity. Heroes from every walk of life gathered in Puxi, where extraordinary men and women mingled with all manner of rogues. The heroes of the land arrived in droves!

Yet the dark side of the underworld was riddled with the uncanny.

Lonely spirits lingered among flesh and blood. Dried bones walked atop foreign-style mansions. Terrifying, savage blood boiled inside steam engines, while spirits of joyous plague wandered the corridors of mission hospitals

Demons, monsters, ghosts, goblins, spirits, immortals!

Born from the miasma that tainted the world, they prowled through countless nights and seeped into the love and hatred of the human underworld.

And among them walked extraordinary men and women who kindled spiritual flames, gathered divinity, and took charge of dawn and lamplight, containing, imprisoning, hunting, and devouring these inhuman beings.

They were known as the Night Wanderers.

Xu Yi transmigrates into this world and becomes a Night Wanderer, but through a twist of fate he steps onto the demonic path and becomes a Fragrant Demon.

From then on, whether he is a god or a demon depends on a single thought.
