Tokyo Manga Artist: Starting as His Wife's Assistant

Born into a parallel-world Tokyo, where manga are increasingly formulaic and quality varies wildly, Uesugi Natsuki brings with him every manga he read in his previous life and sets his sights on becoming a manga artist. He starts honing his drawing skills as a child.

Twenty years later, Uesugi Natsuki, a second-year student at Tokyo University of the Arts, walks into the editorial office of Weekly Shonen VISTA with a lifetime of practice behind him.

He starts with Attack on Titan and shakes the entire manga industry!

[I've never read a story this gripping!]

[But does this really fit the style of a shonen manga?]

Amid the criticism and praise, a dazzling new star rises in the manga world.

Meanwhile, Uesugi Natsuki, an ordinary college student who only wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a manga artist, makes an unexpected discovery: the single mother living next door is a veteran manga artist whose work has completely flopped.

From that day on, dreams and a carefree life no longer have to be at odds.

The mixed-race campus beauty who pretends to be his girlfriend, the rookie assistant who wants to become a manga artist but can't think up a story, the female editor whose gaze grows more and more suggestive...

Years later, as the undisputed number one in the manga world, he gives an interview to the Tokyo Daily.

“Mr. Uesugi, people in the industry say you're very close to several women. Is that true?”

Uesugi Natsuki holds a drawing pen in one hand and an alluring beauty in the other arm, smiling faintly.

“That's a misunderstanding. My relationship with them is... purely professional.”
