This Beast-Taming Game Is a Little Off

A game called Beast Tamer World Online swept across the globe.

In the game, a veteran player was explaining the basics to a newcomer.

“We have to play as one of the NPC Jiang Fengqi’s beast companions and keep him safe.”

“Of course, we also have to help him build a home, evade pursuit, farm, raise kids, and capture beast companions. If we get the chance, we can even find him a wife or unclog a toilet. The important thing is to remember that everything we do should be aimed at raising his affection.”

“Hey, hey, hey... You’re getting more and more ridiculous! Would anyone really play a game like that?”

“Ahem, ahem... I got carried away. Back to the point.”

“This is the story of a poor NPC struggling to survive in this world with a bunch of beast companions.”

...Could you maybe leave out the word “struggling”?

“Looking at the different-flavored exotic beast eggs on your menu every day, I can’t say I understand where the struggle is supposed to be.”

“Ahem... Let’s not talk about the struggle. Here’s the important part: the NPC we have to protect is just an ordinary person, and he’s so weak he’ll kick the bucket at the slightest mishap. That’s what makes this game difficult.”

“????”

“By ‘weak,’ do you mean that guy over there wearing a gray hat, a gray vest, and blue shorts?” The player gestured toward the distance, looking rather speechless...

Following his gaze, they saw Jiang Fengqi holding an axe and staring at a powerful exotic beast in the distance.

“You may call me ‘Just Strong’...”

“Your speed is impressive, but it’s nothing compared to the squirrels in that forest...”
