City of Sin

In my personal mind, the eternal god of Western fantasy. Compared with the two recent novels written by Yanyu Jiangnan, I feel that the writing style has dropped too much, especially the description of the environment. It does not have the sense of wanton imagination like Sin City and Demon Hunter's Notes. From a pessimistic point of view, Yanyu Jiangnan may never write another novel of the level of Sin City.

Ryusha, the last female character that impressed me so deeply was Eri from Dragon Tribe III. However, the tragedy of the dragon clan is purely about the protagonist seeking death, but the tragedy in this book is the heroine's own choice, which is really touching. I think a female character like this who has talents that surpass the protagonist in some aspects and a lot of sincerity is the heroine in the work that makes people like and recognize her, rather than the heroine who exists just for the sake of having a heroine in some works. The ending of the heroine in this book really surprised me. It really made me feel that this relationship, whether the male protagonist or the readers who step into the protagonist's perspective, is a bit unworthy and unqualified to have it.

Richard, Gordon, Quicksand, there are very few novels that can make you remember the characters in them a few years later. I have read Sin City three times, and usually I will read it once after a while. I have endless aftertaste, because there is no comparison between novels of the same type. It is a masterpiece in my heart.

It's an anticlimactic story, with a stallion male protagonist. The first part is very well written, especially the part about Irene, which shows obvious growth, and the rest is unpredictable and pure.

I have read this book once since I was in high school, and it is one of several Western books that have had a profound impact on me, along with The Arcane Throne of the Dancing Demonic Squid. Now I have read it from beginning to end. The early revelation of the worldview and the characterization of the details were fascinating, but after discovering the doomsday seed from the Faro plane, I felt that all processes were accelerated, and the protagonist made crazy strides forward. There are new maps one after another, but they are all just passed by in a hurry without being described in ink. Rushing all the way to the end, the so-called "end of the world", but the scenery and people along the way are ignored. So many characters with vivid images on the page, in the end only the voices, faces and smiles they had when they first appeared on the scene. In the later stage, everything becomes blurry, except of course the quicksand. Life is a journey, not a speed-running game. This is true of reality, and so is fantasy adventure.

In the early stage, all the characters were well drawn, but in the middle stage, all kinds of inexplicable cancellations began. The plot becomes more difficult due to the passion of the second half of the protagonist, and a good hand of cards is played badly. Your father, Gordon, is really good at fighting, but you rely on hard work and luck. The awakened wisdom talent might as well be called analytical talent. It has a brain but definitely not much. To sum up, it can be understood that the author started to reduce the number of words in the middle of the novel.
