Don’t Be Misled by the Reviews or Chapter Comments
It's like the story of the little horse crossing the river: at Qidian, you really shouldn't trust other people's reviews. A lot of readers skim through books, miss details in the setup, blame the author, and still think they're superior.
Books I Like, Do You?
The protagonists aren't chuunibyou, dark, holier-than-thou, or obsequious toward beautiful women. The stories also shouldn't be too Westernized, though a little is fine, or contrived, like the Heavenly Court coming down to the mortal realm to buy fruit. The characters should have their own joys and sorrows. I read pretty widely and will try anything that fits these criteria. Most importantly, I don't want the protagonist to suffer.
