Scene version:

At an inn, Xiao Mingyue glanced at Mu Yunzheng, who was sitting nearby drinking tea, and sighed. “Why are you following me?”

Mu Yunzheng set down his teacup, his expression unchanged. His voice was as cold as ever. “Who's following you? We're just going the same way.”

“The same way?” Xiao Mingyue raised an eyebrow. “You've been going the same way for quite a while.”

On the main road, Xiao Mingyue waved cheerfully at Mu Yunzheng, who was riding behind her.

“What is it?” Mu Yunzheng asked.

“Look, the sun is so strong. Come up here and get some shade,” Xiao Mingyue said with concern.

Suspecting nothing, Mu Yunzheng leaped into the carriage.

Xiao Mingyue brought out a bowl of water, her smile unchanged. “Drink up.”

Mu Yunzheng took it and drained it in one go. A wave of dizziness washed over him, and he looked at her in confusion.

With a bright smile, she stuck out her foot and kicked him right out of the carriage, sending dust flying everywhere.

She kicked him again?!

He couldn't believe it, but his whole body had gone limp. All he could hear was her laughter fading into the distance.

“Lie there and get some rest. Watch out for the wolves...”
