Long March: Details Determine History

Compiled By Wu Dongfeng And Zhu Jihong

192K0

If there were not those details of the Long March experienced by the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, without the snow-capped mountains and vast grasslands, without those people who were forced into desperate situations due to hunger and cold and narrow escapes, without those heart-stirring decisions and disagreements, without the hardships, dangers and sacrifices everywhere, would the Long March still be so eye-catching to the world, and would it still make us so amazed and moved? When we look up to them with the word "great", they may feel only insignificance and helplessness; when we praise them with the word "glorious", they may only feel suffering and pain; when we evaluate them with the word "correct", perhaps they only feel confusion and hesitation. This book carefully collects and organizes the scattered details from hundreds of Long March memoirs, diaries and documentary works. It attempts to provide readers with the most original, authentic and vivid text about the characters, events, environment, politics, military, logistics and other aspects of the Long March through these "smallest components" in historical memory, and to reproduce the "original ecology" of the Long March.

The Decisive Battle: Records of the Fourth Field Campaign (1946-1950)

Zhang Zhenglong

496K0

In October 1948, in the first stage of the Liaoshen Campaign, the main force of the Northeast Field Army of the People's Liberation Army launched a critical campaign against the Kuomintang army defending Jinzhou, Liaoning. The Battle of Jinzhou was a decisive battle between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party in the Northeast during the War of Liberation. Hundreds of thousands of Kuomintang troops were annihilated, and Fan Hanjie, deputy commander-in-chief of the Kuomintang's Northeast "Suppression General", and Lu Junquan, commander of the 6th Corps, were captured. Jinzhou, the chokepoint between the Kuomintang army in the Northeast and the interior of the pass, was tightly strangled by the People's Liberation Army. In October 1948, the Northeast Field Army of the People's Liberation Army launched a large-scale encirclement and annihilation campaign against the Kuomintang Army in the areas east of Heishan and Dahu Mountain in western Liaoning Province. In this battle, more than 100,000 people from the 9th Corps of the Kuomintang Army were wiped out, and Liao Yaoxiang, a fellow commander of the Corps, was captured alive, thus achieving a decisive victory in the Liaoshen Campaign. After the peaceful liberation of Changsha, the Kuomintang army's Bai Chongxi clique retreated to the southern Hunan area centered on Hengyang and Baoqing (today's Shaoyang) in an attempt to echo the Yu Hanmou clique and Song Xilian clique to prevent the People's Liberation Army from advancing into Guangdong and Guangxi and block "half of the Kuomintang's southwestern territory." From September 13 to October 11, 1949, the People's Liberation Army fought fierce battles with Bai Chongxi's troops on the Hengbao front line, and finally annihilated most of its main forces, shattering Bai Chongxi's dream of ruling by dividing the river. On October 2, 1949, the East Route Army of the Fourth Field Army of the People's Liberation Army launched the Guangdong Campaign in three groups and launched an attack on the Kuomintang defenders in Guangdong. The Kuomintang army had no fighting spirit and was retreating steadily. The People's Liberation Army entered Guangzhou on the night of the 14th. Under the devastating and fierce offensive of the People's Liberation Army, part of the Kuomintang army withdrew to Guangxi, and the main force fled to the Leizhou Peninsula. By the 24th, the People's Liberation Army had wiped out more than 40,000 people who had fled from the enemy in the Yangjiang and Yangchun areas.

"Dark War: Secret War Files of Great Powers Declassified" is launched after "Insidious: Declassified Files of International Spies Masters". Instead, it focuses on telling the conflicts, struggles and even wars of the United States, the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Britain, France, Israel and other major powers. The historical background is World War II or the Cold War, and espionage activities were interspersed with wars. These espionage activities show wonderful stories, such as the struggle between eavesdropping and counter-eavesdropping between the United States and the Soviet Union, the United States' operation to steal the "secret report" of the 20th Congress of the Soviet Communist Party, the dangerous operation to steal the blueprints of the "Phantom" fighter plane, the "Operation Heavy Water" that shattered Hitler's atomic bomb dream, the "Mincemeat Project" known as the largest espionage scam in World War II, the "Guardian Plan" that used lies to protect the Normandy landing, and so on. Each story has twists and turns, intertwined events, and complicated relationships. Politicians from various countries are involved, fighting overtly and secretly, and using their best efforts. This book is more readable. Each of the exciting, thrilling, wits and martial arts stories will give readers a new understanding of the war and even the world situation at that time. It can be said that these espionage activities rewrote the history of the world, changed the world situation at that time, and also had a profound impact on future generations. Whether it looks good or not, you will know when you open this book...

Super pretty! A legendary notebook dedicated to all historical explorers. An author with a leaping mind travels through the turbulent time and space and various characters, presenting us with a series of battlefield dramas: unexpected reversals, coincidences arranged by fate, heart-wrenching moments, extremely contrasting sides, fleeting vanity, and mysterious rises... I can't stop! The witty and cunning Drake, the calm and decisive Togo Heihachiro, and the conceited and unpredictable Napoleon - three stories, three different life experiences, and behind them is the spirit of a nation and a country. The scenes of endless fighting and endless battles are certainly exciting, but the inevitable victory or defeat and the power of people's aspirations are worth pondering. This book only excerpts one page from the chapters of the Anglo-Spanish War, the Russo-Japanese War, the Napoleonic War... These historical changes, which is the page that marks a major historical turning point, showing the moment when the historical torrent was stirred up by the strong wind.

In today's era, war, as the most barbaric form of dialogue between people, has been hated by more and more people in the civilized world. Even politicians who view the resort to force as a last resort and occasional necessity in settling international disputes tend to view it as a regrettable tactic. However, if the history of human civilization is compared to a long picture scroll, then as the picture slowly unfolds, what will come to us will be the smoke of war covering the ground, the roaring shouts of fighting, the iron horses, the war drums and the bronze lutes, which can still be vaguely heard after thousands of years. It can be said that war goes hand in hand with the entire human history.
