You Insult People Like You're Flirting [Esports]

(I haven't figured out the details yet. It might even be a gaming novel!!!)

A bottom who loves to ambush people gets ambushed by a top while gaming in the middle of the night. He logs off, gets angrier the more he thinks about it, then logs back in and adds the top as a friend.

After the request is accepted.

Bottom: What gives you the right to ambush me?

Top: There's no rule in this game saying you can't ambush people.

The bottom starts searching his mind for things to say in an argument.

Just then, the top sends him a voice chat invite. Startled, the bottom slips and accepts it.

A lazy voice comes from the other end: "Go on, tell me. I just saw you sneak up on someone and steal their ass at xx. What, you can ambush people, but nobody else can ambush you?"

The bottom has already accepted the voice chat, and hanging up now would make him look like a coward. After a long struggle, all he manages to say is: "Dumbass."

The other person goes quiet for a moment. The bottom thinks his insult has hit home, but the next second, the other person bursts out laughing. "You sound like you're pouting when you insult people, babe."

*The final line is an internet meme.

*Rivals-to-lovers couple in a competitive game.

*The specific setting, characters, and story are still undecided. For now, I'm just leaving this idea here.
