[Melodrama warning] [Heartbreak warning] [This is seriously pretty melodramatic]

After holding a solo recital at Vienna’s Golden Hall, Liang Jun’s next stop was his homeland, which he had not visited in ten years.

More eye-catching than his status as a world-class pianist was the hearing aid in his left ear.

His mentor, Zhu Qingyun’s father, was hosting a welcome banquet for him in the city. Zhu Qingyun’s friend excitedly sought him out. “I heard you’ve known each other since you were six, and he even used to practice with you? Get me an autograph, will you?”

Zhu Qingyun: “No.”

“Why not?”

Zhu Qingyun shrugged. “Do you know how his ear was damaged?”

His friend shook his head.

“The year he left, my dad caught us dating. I let him catch us on purpose.” Zhu Qingyun spoke very calmly. “My dad slapped him, and his ear has been like that ever since.”
