What Should We Do Now That Captain Yukimura Has Turned into a Cat?

[Upcoming: "Can't a Succubus Play Tennis?" and "Do Baby Orcas Have to Play Tennis Too?"] A rumor was spreading through the middle school tennis world: Have you heard? The captain of Rikkaidai's tennis club, Yukimura, is in the hospital. They've found a cat to act as his replacement. Everyone thought Rikkaidai's captain had fallen ill and been hospitalized, but only the club's regular players knew the truth: the captain wasn't sick. He had simply turned into a cat. So every day during tennis club practice, Yukimura the cat would perch on the umpire's chair: Meow, meow, meow, meow! Whenever a club member made a mistake, they'd march up to their captain, eyes full of anticipation. Please punish me with your iron fist! Yukimura the cat tucked away his little paw pads. I'm not going to reward you! Yukimura the cat was a huge hit with the tennis club. Yanagi and Sanada drew lots to decide who would take the cat (no), the captain (yes), to class. Niou tried to collect shed cat fur and knit it into a doll. Marui was devoted to feeding the cat every day, then waving a cat toy in front of him. While the captain cat was asleep, Kirihara reached for his belly. I'll just give him a quick little pat. Yukimura the cat smiled and showed his sharp claws. You really think I'm just a cat? During a match, their opponents pointed at the coaches' area, puzzled. What's with that cat? The people of Rikkaidai answered with the utmost seriousness: Our honorary acting captain!
