When Will the World-Destroying Demon Lord Finally Strike?

Sweet-talking, scheming cutie x world-weary, listless demon lord

Cen Lan is the most doted-on junior sister in the Wuxiang Sect, the sect leader's daughter. Innocent and charming, sweet-tongued and lively, she inherited her mother's clan's bloodline and wields the strongest barrier powers. A prodigy among the young generation: that's how everyone sees Cen Lan.

When she learns of the demonic faction's plan to attack the immortal mountain, Cen Lan volunteers to infiltrate the Demon City and assassinate the world-destroying demon lord. The sect leader can't bear to let her go and tries to stop her, but she resolutely sets off without looking back, moving everyone with her spirit of self-sacrifice.

The Wuxiang Sect's leader sheds a sorrowful tear and tells the others, "My daughter is the very picture of kindness."

Qi Jiuyu is the most powerful Demon Venerable in the history of the demonic path. Mysterious and inscrutable, he stays in his lair all day and rarely ventures out. Those who have glimpsed him say, "This demon lord is cunning and steeped in sin, arrogant and contemptuous of the righteous path. If he isn't eliminated, the world will face a great calamity!"

One day, the fabled world-destroying demon lord is fishing by a lake at the foot of a mountain. After hearing all this, he glances at the girl beside him, who is telling him where the shortcuts to the immortal mountain are and where its formations have flaws.

Cen Lan notices his gaze and glares at him. "What? Are you saying I'm not innocent and charming, sweet-tongued and lively?"

Qi Jiuyu recalls how she arrived at the foot of the Demon Mountain covered in wounds, brazenly seized his wooden hut, and viciously threatened him into finding medicine for her. He falls silent for a moment, then manages a stiff, "Mm," before turning back to his fishing.

Seeing how taciturn and indifferent he is makes Cen Lan angry. She snatches his fishing rod and smiles sweetly at him. "A world-destroying demon lord should be doing what a world-destroying demon lord is supposed to do. What kind of look is it for him to spend all day fishing?"

"What I'm supposed to do... Such as?"

"Such as killing the Wuxiang Sect's leader first."

Cen Lan never believed that the person who spent all day lying flat in the sun, wanting nothing and doing nothing but fishing, was really the world-destroying demon lord. That is, until the righteous cultivators hunted her down and she tricked him by saying she was about to die. Qi Jiuyu stood with his back to her, shielding her, and flew into a rage for the first time.
