[Western Crossover] An Entomologist's Research Notes

Limbus Company crossover, short story (about 150,000 characters), starring Gregor

Maybe a free story, just pure love for bugs, haha.

Gregor often feels that his life has already hit rock bottom.

But he never expected it could get worse.

For example, right now, he accidentally opens a door on the bus and falls into a gloomy city.

Well, maybe it's not that bad. At least this place seems much better than the City.

And Dante will always find a way to fish him out.

But the first problem standing in his way is this: how can he find work when he's once again having trouble controlling his insect limbs?

Batman discovers that a new visitor has arrived in his city: a German man with insect limbs.

At first, he thinks it must be the product of some organization's latest experiment. Later, he realizes the situation may be more complicated than that.

Dante: Gregor, wait for me to fish you out!

Before You Read:

1. Third-person narration. The protagonist is Gregor, Sinner No. 084, based on The Metamorphosis. Includes insects, transformation, and psychological trauma. The author loves bugs, dark jokes, and Kafka, so expect characterization inspired by the original work, references and major alterations involving the author's other works, and a lethal dose of apple jokes.

2. Based on the author's personal headcanon, mirror technology can still be used to some extent, meaning identities can be overwritten. (Because I like a lot of the K-corp characters.) The other bus passengers are mostly absent throughout, but remain in contact.

3. The timeline may change depending on later Golden Bough updates. (For instance, if an interlude confirms that Gregor has awakened, this timeline may be used even if his condition is unstable. Otherwise, the story will be set before Chapter Nine.)

4. Since Golden Bough has introduced some mysterious new combatants, they may appear in the story.
