The Chasing-Wife's Crematorium x The Powerful One Bows Down | An Insomniac, Affection-Starved Illegitimate Son CEO vs. A Talkative, Playful, Money-Loving, Beautiful, Strong A-List Actress
Ling Shuyu entered the entertainment industry to pay off her parents' gambling debts. After gaining some popularity as the second female lead in a web drama, her agent ordered her to keep quiet.
To ease her need to talk, she started an anonymous livestreaming channel to help viewers fall asleep, attracting a number of fans. Among them was Lu Zhaoye, the newly appointed CEO of her agency.
Lu Zhaoye was the illegitimate son of the chairman of the Lin Group. While he was pursuing his master's degree overseas, he was dragged back to manage Land Entertainment, which was on the verge of bankruptcy.
After coming home from a business engagement, he went up to the rooftop to get some air as usual and rescued Ling Shuyu, who was about to fall.
Ling Shuyu seized the opportunity to complain, accusing her agent of forcing her to drink with clients and putting her on the shelf, among other things.
After hearing her out, Lu Zhaoye gave her his private WeChat account. "This is Assistant Li's WeChat. Get in touch with him."
From then on, during the day, Lu Zhaoye was Secretary Li, listening as Ling Shuyu talked about her daily life.
At night, Ling Shuyu became Lu Zhaoye's personal sleep therapist.
