I Came Back and Went Viral for My Low-Key Eccentricity

Newcomer actress Shi Baizhi chased attention with malicious publicity stunts and shamelessly latched onto every trending topic. Soon, scandals flooded the internet, her public image collapsed, and the whole web mocked her.

She disappeared from the public eye and slunk out of the entertainment industry.

Until half a year later.

Shi Baizhi's name suddenly appeared on the lineup for a deserted-island survival reality show.

People online speculated: "Is she the sacrificial lamb they're setting up as a contrast?" "Bet she'll be crying to quit in a couple of days."

From the start, things went exactly as expected. While the others worked hard to put up tents and find food, she sat cross-legged on the beach, meditating with her face toward the sea, surrounded by the warmth of spring.

The viewers laughed: "There goes another nutcase. Someone carry her off."

But half a day later, she lifted the fishing rod in front of her.

Plop!

Three fat fish had all rushed to bite the hook and landed on the ground.

Viewers: "???"

"Master, what kind of spell are you casting?"

"I'm not even a fishing guy, I just want to know where you're fishing!"

After a night of fear, wind, and rain, the other guests woke up aching all over and could barely get to their feet.

But she was already hiking up a mountain to watch the sunrise, stepping lightly and striding along with ease. Facing the rosy dawn, she opened the huge case on her back.

In the morning mist and the glow of sunrise, with the mountain pines whispering in the wind, she began to play the guqin. A performance of "High Mountains and Flowing Water" stunned everyone watching the livestream, both online and off.

The exhausted camera operator and production crew: "..."

Viewers: "Thanks. My soul has been elevated, too."

When it came time to choose teammates, she was harshly criticized for having no team spirit, being selfish, and refusing to share.

In the face of the furious crowd, Shi Baizhi remained serene and brewed chrysanthemum tea.

Calmly, she pushed a cup toward them, took out a string of Buddhist prayer beads, and began murmuring the Diamond Sutra.

All the guests fell silent in shock: "..."

Viewers: "What a beautiful state of mind."

No one knew that, over the past six months, Shi Baizhi had transmigrated through several different worlds.

"The Ancient Clan's Overachieving Young Lady," "Surviving in the Apocalypse," "A Deadly Game in a Horror World"...

Now she took life and death in stride, as calm and detached as a chrysanthemum, her heart like still water.

Living is fine. Dying is fine, too.

Who would have thought that her faint smile would take the whole internet by storm?
