How Can My Affection Score Be Off the Charts?

[Tentative synopsis]

After the college entrance exams, Yan Le'an gets into the university of his dreams.

He'd hoped to start enjoying life and find a girlfriend, but after taking a fall and hitting his head, something seems to have gone wrong with his brain. He can apparently see his roommate Shi Mu's affection score.

The thing is...

When he sees the [0] above Shi Mu's head, Yan Le'an has a bad feeling.

A roommate? That's someone who can be like your dad one moment and your son the next!

Even if they don't have to become best friends, they should at least become regular friends, right? Otherwise, how awkward would it be when he needs Shi Mu's help during their four years at university?

With that in mind, Yan Le'an makes a decision: before getting into a relationship, he'll raise his roommate Shi Mu's affection score to the level of a friend.

Around 50 to 60 should do, Yan Le'an figures, using a percentage scale.

So he starts trying all sorts of things: calling him Brother Shi, bringing him food, starting conversations...

Finally, thanks to his tireless efforts, his roommate Shi Shu's affection score begins to rise.

[1], [2], [3]...

[16], [20], [24]...

Later, when the score reaches the level of an ordinary friendship, Yan Le'an notices that it keeps going up even when he stops trying.

A few months later, he discovers that the score has reached an astonishing [101].

So the affection score can go over 100?

Puzzled, Yan Le'an tells his roommate that he plans to find someone outside the dorm and start a sweet romance. But his roommate just knits his brows and stares at him.

Yan Le'an checks that the affection score hasn't dropped and doesn't take the reaction seriously.

Until one day, he unexpectedly returns to the dorm after saying he wouldn't be back, and catches his best friend Shi Shu jerking off to a photo of him.

Then he watches with his own eyes as the affection score rises from [124] to [125].

So this damn thing isn't an affection score. It's the number of times he's gotten off to me!

After a long silence, Yan Le'an can't help cursing internally when he realizes the truth.
