A story of ex-lovers finding their way back to each other

Bo Xiangwang can't make it out there anymore. She's so broke her pockets are cleaner than her face. After changing her appearance and returning to her old stomping grounds, she plans to find a rich woman to support her and get back on her feet. She fears nothing, except running into her old nemesis, who's now a high-ranking figure on the opposing side.

She takes every precaution, but still manages to land herself in the Inspectorate by accident.

Her nemesis's headquarters.

Well, look at that. Straight into the lion's den.

She's practically wrapped herself up and delivered herself to their doorstep as a little present!

Actually, given that person's temperament, there's no telling whether they'd even remember someone as insignificant as her.

When Bo Xiangwang hears that Director Ji Fuzhou is about to visit the Inspectorate, she seriously considers whether successfully assassinating him would let her squeeze a hefty bounty out of the various rebel factions.

Or maybe she should offer up her teacher's belongings as a token of surrender to Ji Fuzhou, then hitch a ride on the conservatives' ship?

Being wanted all over the world, with her bounty climbing every year until she can barely look at her own reflection without feeling dazed, isn't exactly a sustainable way to live.

She's never felt so important before, so important that everyone wants a piece of her, regardless of faction or background.

"All that came before is as dead as yesterday. All that comes after is born today."

Will things go the same way this time?

Maybe they won't, but Director Ji is still just as petty and vindictive as ever.

On her first day in the Inspectorate, Director Ji grabs her by the shoulder, hard.

Who knows if he recognized an old acquaintance?

Bo Xiangwang keeps a straight face and talks nonsense: "Director Ji, are you flirting with me?"

"I mean, I'm a strength-type esper. That's how I made it big among rich women and got all those lovely ladies madly in love with me. Your strength feels just like flirting to me."
