After I Lost My Memory, My Enemy Became My Husband?

Everyone in court knew that Xie Changxin was a poison-tongued strategist, the sort who could bring down a whole city with one plan, ruthless and calculating, leaving no survivors.

But at home, he was sickly and frail, coughing in the slightest breeze. He rolled up his sleeves to cook porridge, and kept the lamps lit all night for fear his wife might wake from a nightmare.

Xie Changxin was breathtakingly beautiful, like a celestial being. He indulged his wife in everything and never denied her anything, save for one strange habit.

Even when they were intimate, he wore a light robe and never let her see his back.

He wanted his wife to stay like this forever, to never remember.

But no paper can hide a fire forever, and no one can outwit fate.

That night, in the dead of silence, Shen Ciying remembered everything.

At first, the moon had been dim. A cold arrow had cut through the air, aimed straight at her back.

The handsome young man had pushed her aside without hesitation and taken the fatal blow for her, leaving him with a chronic illness for the rest of his life.

With blood soaking half his robe, Xie Changxin collapsed to his knees. Even before he lost consciousness, he was still worried she might be hurt.

Her heart twisted with pain. She stayed by his sickbed and resolved to care for Xie Changxin like family for the rest of her life.

The young can hardly help but harbor innocent hopes. She, too, had once imagined a peaceful marriage, with the two of them cherishing one another.

But when a blood-red sunset spread across her hometown, she finally saw Xie Changxin for who he really was.

Her eyes reddened and her hair came loose at the temples as she threw herself into his arms, her voice choked with tears.

"When you took that arrow for me, had you planned that too?"
