Sister Taohua, Don't Cry

The white peach blossoms in the imperial garden tiptoed to peek: the sister in the gauzy dress was crying under the tree again!

She always kneaded petals into little moons, but never told the flowers why.

The fragrance of peach blossoms by the old stream was sweeter than her sister's golden hairpin, and the dew of memory was sweeter than the candied peaches on the jade plate.

So silence wasn't fear. It was secretly planting peach branches tangled in one's hair, waiting for new leaves, wet with tears, to grow into the shape of courage.

In a gentle fairy tale, children can understand the weight of "never forgetting an old kindness".

Just as every silent petal holds the heartbeat of the strongest heart.

This is the courage of silence, true strength.

Sometimes it hides behind lips that never part, yet grows in the heart into a peach tree that will never fall.

The sixth poem in "Teaching Tang Poems to Children." Inspired by Wang Wei's "Lady Xi": Do not let today's favor make you forget yesterday's kindness. She gazes at the flowers, eyes full of tears, and will not speak to the King of Chu.

Thesis: Never forget an old kindness. The courage of silence is strength too.
