The Tree-Root Mother's Hair Is Long

Deep in the forest lives a special mother tree root.

Her roots are the earth's long hair,

soft as the yarn Mom uses to knit sweaters!

A little squirrel uses pinecones to comb her braids,

raindrops help wash her hair,

and fireflies pin star-shaped clips in it.

A tree's roots aren't cold, lifeless dirt.

They're as warm as a mother's embrace,

a place where every little creature can feel safe~

Premise: Portray the roots of a tree as maternal, conveying the sense of security found in nature
