The Next Step After Marriage Is Divorce (A Matriarchal World)

On the first day after finally finding a boyfriend, Sheng Shiwei inexplicably transmigrated.

The good news: this is a matriarchal society. The bad news: there are plenty of downsides.

Sheng Shiwei is uncomfortable with everything and wants to return to the modern world every day.

During a bout of melancholy, she meets Mei Qingyan.

To her surprise, he looks remarkably like her modern-day boyfriend.

Suddenly, she has something to look forward to, and Sheng Shiwei uses every trick in the book to pursue him.

At last, the two become a couple and get married.

But Mei Qingyan is a completely different person before and after the wedding.

Before marriage, he was a gentle, aloof beauty. Afterward, he became a petty, jealous husband.

The two are constantly at odds and always arguing.

At first, Sheng Shiwei is willing to comfort him and indulge him.

But when she realizes that she is the only one constantly giving ground, and that she will have to keep doing so for the rest of her life, she hesitates.

She knows Mei Qingyan is unlikely to change, and she also realizes that she is starting to grow bored and fed up.

Sheng Shiwei begins to consider divorcing him.

And yet, only a few months have passed since their blissful wedding.

In Mei Qingyan's eyes, his wife is a completely different person before and after they married.

He never expected her to love only him for the rest of her life, but he never imagined their sweet days would be so short.

Looking back, there were signs that his wife had changed her heart.

She would gaze at his face under the lamplight, lost in thought, and sometimes say things he could not understand, as if she were always reminiscing about something...

And there was the estate she kept sneaking off to, thinking he knew nothing about it...

He had heard that the man living there was the one his wife truly held dearest.

Hah.

A fickle woman like her would never hold anyone in her heart.

And even if she truly liked someone, she would still have to talk to him, her principal husband, before bringing that person into the household as a concubine.

But Mei Qingyan waited and waited, only to receive a divorce agreement.

Furious, he rushed to the estate, only to discover that the person living there looked just like him.
