Childhood Betrothal (Women-Rule World)

Li Rongyue is an honest person. One day, she opens her eyes and discovers that her soul has transmigrated into the body of a young daughter of an official who was born only recently.

More than a decade passes in a flash. Her new identity has it all, from her looks and family background to her warm home life. There's only one thing that troubles her:

She has an engagement arranged long ago, to a man she's never met and was betrothed to when they were still in the womb.

Li Rongyue drops hints and probes more than once, only to discover that calling off the engagement is practically impossible.

Besides, times have changed, and the young gentleman's family is now struggling. Her mother earnestly tells Li Rongyue to treat him well after they marry.

Li Rongyue understands her elders' feelings and intentions, and reassures herself that she'll accept it.

But the thought of losing her freedom and taking on a pile of responsibilities after marriage makes her ask to go out and clear her head before the wedding.

On the road, Li Rongyue meets a haughty, unlucky young gentleman named Zhu Tang.

She generously helps him, only for him to cling to her.

Zhu Tang confesses his feelings to Li Rongyue and even urges her to elope with him.

But thinking of her family and the responsibilities on her shoulders, Li Rongyue refuses him again and again, with heartfelt sincerity.

She also honestly tells him that she already has a betrothed, and doesn't want him to suffer for her sake.

Zhu Tang is furious, unable to understand how she could be so bewitched by her betrothed that she completely overlooks the near-perfect man right in front of her.

But alongside his anger, Zhu Tang also feels guilty:

He, too, has a betrothed wife.

They've simply never met.

Unable to get out of the arranged marriage and with the wedding date approaching, he's run away from home.
