The Fox Says [Matriarchal]

Ning Yunxiu received an imperial decree arranging her marriage to the seventh prince, a sickly boy who had been neglected since childhood.

Many people knew that the scheme had actually been devised by Ning Yunxiu’s stepsister. Ning Yunxiu knew it too, but thought her only goal was to humiliate her.

She never expected that the real plan was to pin the seventh prince’s death on her.

But things took an unexpected turn.

The wedding went off without a hitch, and the seventh prince accompanied Ning Yunxiu to her post in the provinces.

Only the two of them knew what had really happened:

The seventh prince was indeed dead. The one who stayed by Ning Yunxiu’s side and helped her through each crisis was a fox that could take human form.
