Is It Wrong to Fall in Love with a Reaper's Descendant?

Xi Lingjue is a descendant of the God of Death. By touching someone, she can see how long they have left to live. Her greatest principle: stay away from anyone whose light of life is fading.

Pu Fanxing can understand animals, and though she has a terminal illness, she has made a list of “100 little things to do.” Her motto: create endless memories in the time she has.

When the aloof Xi Lingjue discovers that her new neighbor Pu Fanxing has only three months of life left, she decides to keep her distance and, at most, observe.

However...

Pu Fanxing’s orange cat, Songbing, starts scratching at her door every day to pass on messages: “She baked cookies today!” “She says your eyes look like a rainy sky!”

A corgi at the flower shop needs help translating its heartbreak. A hamster at the pet store escapes for the umpteenth time, leaving a trail of sunflower-seed shells as arrows. A parrot in its cage debates Schrödinger’s preferences in sunflower seeds.

And Xi Lingjue discovers something else: every time she interacts with Pu Fanxing, the memories they make together turn into golden specks of light, winding around the other woman’s fading glow of life...

Wait, what happened to keeping my distance? What is with this whole cat-dog-bird-mouse team-up?!
