The village is full of ancient demons whose per capita GDP ranks near the bottom, as well as a nasty mountain god who pokes him in the butt with his antlers. Jiang Mi, in tears: It’s not that my fate is blessed. I’m just too stubborn to die. Until he discovers that whenever he gets close to the mountain god, the spiritual power the other has been losing for years starts bubbling back. Mountain God Lu Huai: Back in the day, a constitution like yours was called a cultivation furnace, you know? Jiang Mi: I’ll give you a piece of my mind! They may not see eye to eye, but one can’t bear to lose his achievements at work, and the other can’t bear to lose his blood bag. Each turns over his own little abacus in his heart as they hatch a plan to get rich together. And so The moon rabbits grow mushrooms, the weasels raise free-range chickens, and the Dangkang boar cultivates giant crops that leave all the competition in the dust. The Dragon Lord, a second-generation god, takes over the fish farms, fox spirits livestream tea sales, and even Kunlun cultivators earn course credits by feeding chickens and planting rice. No idle gods are allowed on Jiuting Mountain. Under the new village official’s leadership, the mountain that ranked last in the economy year after year is completely transformed. Spring brings fresh tea and clear streams; summer, floating melons and chilled plums; late autumn, fat crabs and golden chrysanthemums; and deep winter, a glowing charcoal brazier to gather around. Even as Jiuting Mountain’s spiritual energy flourishes and its economy booms, Jiang Mi remains unsatisfied. He considers starting a new business, then fixes his greedy gaze on the huge antlers the mountain god has just shed for the season. Boost your essence and blood! Strengthen your kidneys and yang! Jiang Mi immediately puts on a shameless face and asks for them. Lu Huai looks at the handsome little village official, then carries him toward the bedroom. “What good is deer velvet? I have plenty of ways to give you a real boost!” Later When reporters arrive at the famous Jiuting Mountain with their cameras and microphones, Jiang Mi is lounging on the back of a stag, wandering around the mountain. At the news, he perks up, grabs the little flowers blooming on the deer’s antlers, and keeps shouting, “Giddyup, giddyup!” The next moment, clouds appear beneath the proud sika deer’s hooves as it takes to the sky. And so, every viewer in the livestream sees a divine deer shining with dazzling light among the verdant mountains, with a handsome village official, glowing red from all the tonics, riding on its back!
