Back in the Millennium, I Just Want to Lie Flat and Slack Off

Shi Chu died at just forty years old. As her soul drifted out of her body, she looked at her husband and his mistress standing before the funeral hall, barely able to keep from laughing aloud, and felt utterly disillusioned.

Her marriage, like all forty years of her life, had been little more than a walking corpse. At least they had no children together.

She hated the parents who had forced her into marriage, hated her own weakness, and hated the damn System she had accidentally bonded with!

"System, I died at forty as required by the mission, but I can't accept this! What did I get? Apart from a body full of illnesses, what else?!"

[Beep! System malfunction, malfunction!]

Shi Chu: "This is a critical moment. Don't play dead."

[Beep! The Death System has officially upgraded to the Slacker System. Host, I know you're in a hurry, but don't panic just yet!]

Shi Chu, who could only exist as a ghost, fumed: "Show yourself in physical form, if you dare. I'll beat you to death."

[First, congratulations on completing your mission, Host. You have received the next-generation Slacker System. As a reward, you get ten courtyard houses and 100 million in cash.]

Shi Chu was on the verge of tears. The most painful thing in life is dying before you've had a chance to spend your money, right?

A beam of light appeared. When Shi Chu opened her eyes again, she found herself at school. She looked around. Wasn't this her old high school?

She had gone back to the year 2000!

[Host, you have 24 hours to spend 50 million to receive 100 million. Spend 100 million in total to earn one blind box draw.]

Shi Chu's eyes lit up. Earning money was hard, but spending it was easy, right?

But when she saw the impoverished town outside, she was dumbfounded.

There was nothing here. What was she supposed to buy? Shi Chu's head spun!

Forget it. She might as well slack off with the System!
