Trace Evidence Expert [Nineties Crime Investigation]

Ming Zhou, a forensic evidence expert, transmigrates into the body of an ordinary police detective in the 1990s and inherits the original owner's abilities.

She keeps transmigrating into victims.

Today, Ming Zhou is a wife being abused at home. Her husband, refined and polite in public, is coming toward her with a cleaver raised.

Tomorrow, Ming Zhou is a witness in a case involving factory steel smuggling, with more than a dozen burly men glaring at her.

Later, she's a pregnant woman in hiding. Everything around her seems peaceful, but someone is watching her without blinking.

Ming Zhou trembles: Help! She's just a forensic specialist, not someone who takes part in manhunts!

Being a victim is terrifying, of course, but little by little, Ming Zhou discovers its advantages.

She arrives at a crime scene and feels right at home.

She sees a strand of hair: "The killer is bald, wears a wig, and got it in a buy-one-get-one-free deal at the department store."

She sees bloodstains: "After killing someone, the killer popped a pimple along the way."

She sees a cigarette butt: "The killer remembered halfway through smoking that they'd quit."

Her final conclusion: "The killer is a middle-aged man who likes wearing cartoon underwear."

Her colleagues: "..."

Flawless logic!

At first, the detectives on the criminal investigation team look down on Ming Zhou.

Solving cases isn't about making things up.

But after they actually catch the killer...

Bald.

Face covered in pimples.

Doesn't smoke.

Most importantly, he really does like cartoon underwear!

Her colleagues: "An expert! A real expert!"

A few months later, the police chief stares, dumbfounded, at a 100% case clearance rate and a pile of unsolved cases that has been cleared out.

At Ming Zhou's commendation ceremony, city officials personally pin a medal on her.

The police chief delivers an impassioned speech: "Comrade Ming Zhou looks at victims as if she's looking at herself! What kind of spirit is that?!"

Ming Zhou: "..."

Well, they are her.
