The Poor Beta Who Got Stuck with Someone

I've finally worked up the courage to apologize. I'm truly sorry that some of the plot developments were poorly handled. I should have eased into them more gently. I'm not trying to make excuses for myself, but I really did find the criticism hard to bear. Starting last year, my offline life brought me to the point of a mental breakdown three times. Readers who've followed several of my books probably know that I rarely talk about my offline life. I'm not trying to ask for sympathy. A lot has happened over the past year, but fortunately, things have gotten better now. It's embarrassing to admit, but I didn't find strength in the therapist I paid to see. Instead, after I broke down from being criticized a while ago, I found encouragement in a place that wasn't exactly wholesome (I mean emotional encouragement, not that I did anything bad). I wasn't ready to face everything so soon, but that encouragement helped me. My offline life no longer feels like one blow after another, and I've come to understand a few things. People need the courage to start over. Before I closed the comments section, I sent red packets to everyone who had left a message and refunded their money. I also said in advance that I would be closing the comments and asked people to leave a message soon so I could send them a red packet. After a few days without any new messages, I closed the comments. If anyone still hasn't received a refund, you can message me privately on Weibo. I'll refund the rest when I end the paid serialization. I don't know if anyone will still click on this blurb, but you should see the notice when I end the paid serialization. I'll delete this too afterward. I was once reduced to tears by criticism when I had just started writing, and even after all these years, I still haven't grown strong enough to face it. Finally, I want to apologize again. I'm in a better place mentally now, and I realize I acted impulsively back then. I'm truly grateful to all the readers who kept encouraging me. You're all angels.
