The Demon Venerable Tries to Escape His Marriage Every Day

Xie Shuangzhe, young master of an immortal sect, is aloof and upright, his sword flashing like a startled swan. He is the radiant moon praised by everyone in the cultivation world.

Yan Jiuxiao, the Demon Venerable, is willful and reckless, cruel and unrestrained, a beautiful madman feared throughout the three realms.

They should have been sworn enemies, but an ancient marriage pact forcibly bound them together.

Xie Shuangzhe: "Break the pact, or I'll kill you."

Yan Jiuxiao: "Kill me? Then you'll have to consummate the marriage with me first."

And so...

On the first day Xie Shuangzhe tried to flee the wedding, Yan Jiuxiao burned down his sect's mountain gate.

On the second day, Yan Jiuxiao dismantled his flying immortal boat.

On the third day, Yan Jiuxiao... climbed into his bed.

Xie Shuangzhe: "...Get out."

Yan Jiuxiao (lazily tugging open his lapel): "The marriage pact says we have to share a bed to break it."

Later, Xie Shuangzhe discovered that the pact didn't just force them to eat and live together. It also made them intertwine their fingers, mingle their breaths, and even... sync their heartbeats.

Worse still, Yan Jiuxiao seemed to enjoy every minute of it.

"Immortal Lord Xie, every time you run, I'll chase you."

"Even if you flee to the ends of the earth, I'll bring you back to be my cultivation partner."
