The Bright Moon Shines on Everyone but Me

A free story for everyone, and thank you for your support.

Song Ze has always felt that his senior brother, Yu Xuanfeng, has it in for him.

His senior brother is cool and aloof, with an air of detachment in his eyes. He is meticulous in everything he does and especially strict with Song Ze.

When Song Ze practices swordsmanship, his senior brother watches nearby and sharply corrects even the slightest mistake.

When he trains in cultivation techniques, his senior brother always compares his progress with other people's.

Even in his everyday movements and manners, his senior brother's gaze is everywhere.

“Again.”

“That's wrong.”

“Junior Brother, you're slacking off again.”

Song Ze hears remarks like these every day, and his pent-up grievances slowly turn to resentment.

He always thinks his senior brother is deliberately making things difficult for him.

But if he asks why his senior brother singles him out, his senior brother never explains. He simply gives him a cool glance and walks away.

Song Ze grits his teeth in anger and secretly swears that one day he'll surpass him, so he can no longer lecture him from on high.

Yu Xuanfeng has a junior brother who joined the sect most recently and is the youngest, yet has exceptional talent.

As the senior brother, he naturally has to pay him extra attention.

His junior brother is flighty and has an unstable foundation, so Yu Xuanfeng keeps a close eye on him, afraid he'll stray from the right path.

His junior brother's swordsmanship is rough, so he corrects him again and again. Even when his junior brother complains that he's annoying, he never lets up.

His junior brother always says he's cold, strict, and fond of nitpicking.

Yu Xuanfeng never says it aloud, but thinks to himself: If I didn't care about you, why would I bother looking after you?

But his junior brother never turns around to see the concern hidden behind those criticisms, or the protection beneath that sternness. The moonlight is clearly spread across the ground, yet he mistakes it for an ordinary night.

#I hate that the moon hangs high above, shining on everyone but me#

#In truth, the moonlight is almost drowning him, but he keeps his eyes shut and refuses to look#
