[Short Story | 6K Words in Reserve] After the Frail Moonlight Beloved Was Cursed with a Love Spell

Three days ago, the world fell apart.

Modern cities were completely swallowed by tropical rainforests. Vines twisted steel beams to pieces, roots cracked open asphalt roads, and nature was quickly erasing human civilization. The entire city had become a primeval jungle.

When Shi Jin stepped into the jungle with his white cane, the gentle man who had just moved in next door took his hand. Shi Jin shivered all over.

The man's skin was strangely cool, like a smooth piece of jade in the sweltering heat.

"Careful, there's a man-eating vine ahead."

Sang Luo's voice was as clear as a mountain stream, yet carried a strange rhythm. "I'll take you outside."

Shi Jin hesitated. "Why are you helping me?"

The other man didn't answer right away.

Shi Jin only felt Sang Luo step closer, making the coolness more distinct, along with a peculiar fragrance.

Like a forest after rain, or some kind of ancient herb.

After an unknown amount of time, a silver bell rang softly, and the other man suddenly chuckled.

"Because..."

"You're the bride I've chosen."
