Jason's perspective:
When Jason had just dug himself out of his own coffin, he instinctively picked up the egg with the big R on it.
He admits that it seemed kind of familiar, but he never thought it was one he'd laid himself.
After spending a whole day going through security footage, Jason finally had to accept the truth. He stared silently at the new egg he'd just laid and the old one.
After that, things started getting weird.
After he beat up another criminal, the new red egg hatched, and out came a little person in a red hood who called themself a Guardian Character.
The little one was cheerful and lively. One day they'd beat up criminals, the next they'd blow up Arkham, and they could even take their brother's egg, which hadn't hatched yet but had changed appearance, and use it as a weapon to smack Batman and Robin as they chased after them.
"Hey, Red Date! I told you not to use Little R as a weapon!"
Jason deftly scooped up the egg that had been thrown away again. His expression under the Red Hood turned strange.
Come to think of it, Little R always seems to get a lot heavier whenever it's thrown at Batman and Robin. Is that just my imagination?
Some time later, Jason and Red Date silently exchanged a glance at Little R, who had hatched as a Robin-shaped bird with a huge X on its head.
Guess it wasn't his imagination. Little R is super effective against the Batfamily.
The cosplayers' perspective:
Good news: They finally found time for a group cosplay of five versions of Jason.
Bad news: They got caught in a cosplay transmigration.
Good news: They didn't become the real characters. Instead, they became Jason's Guardian Characters, with a lot more room to maneuver.
Bad news: This Jason had just dug himself out of a coffin.
Notes:
1. There are five eggs: a Robin egg, a Red Hood egg, an Arkham Knight egg, a priest egg, and a mechanic egg. The Robin egg came first, and after Jason recovered his memories, it became a bad egg due to irreversible circumstances. However, the story begins with the Red Hood egg.
2. Since they're played by cosplayers, even the bad eggs are rational, and Guardian Characters can be seen by others using high-tech methods.
3. No heartbreaking angst, and no bashing anyone in the Batfamily. I love seeing the Batfamily stick together.
4. Any out-of-character behavior is on me. I want some Jason and Robin Guardian Character content. Even adults should get to have eggs.
5. Not very friendly toward ugly designs (except the Lego ugly-design bonus chapter).
Theme: Love.
