[Chu Yan x Alex Landon]
1.
Chu Yan is slender and beautiful, hardworking and diligent. In his second year studying in the United States, his funding is cut off. To support himself, he has no choice but to take a summer job looking after a rich guy's kid.
After a month of working conscientiously, the rich kid, a fussy and domineering young heir, has worn Chu Yan out. The rich guy keeps piling on more work without raising his pay, and Chu Yan's monthly salary isn't nearly enough to cover next semester's tuition.
Seeing how exhausted Chu Yan is every day, his roommate suggests:
"Yanyan, you're so beautiful. Instead of looking after some rich guy's kid, why not land yourself a rich guy?"
Chu Yan refuses with righteous indignation. As an honest young man raised under the red flag, how could he sell himself for his looks?
But the next day, he takes the rich young heir to see his idol's boxing match.
In an atmosphere filled with sweat and testosterone, the man's gaze is wild and fierce, his muscular arms powerful. He knocks his opponent down with a single punch and wins the championship.
Everyone in the crowd is shouting the man's name: Alex Landon.
Seeing Chu Yan's indifferent expression, the rich young heir says proudly, "Alex has won ten matches in a row this year. He gets tens of millions of dollars for a single fight!"
Chu Yan: $_$
Isn't this exactly the kind of rich guy he's looking for? Time to land him!
With the gambler's mindset of giving it a shot, Chu Yan takes the rich young heir's hand and says gently:
"Sweetie, you really like Alex, don't you? I'll go get his autograph for you."
2.
Alex Landon comes from a wealthy and powerful family. He's the hottest star in the JS boxing league in America. At just twenty-five, he's worth over a hundred million and is considered the uncrowned king of the fighting world.
After a popular match, just as he steps out of the ring, his gaze is caught by the slender figure of a young man.
Chu Yan is bending over to wipe the sweat from a boy's forehead. The supple, delicate curve of his lower back is faintly visible beneath his white T-shirt.
No one knows that Alex has an intense fixation on waists. He especially loves slender, pale waists, and Chu Yan's is exactly his type.
Chu Yan approaches him with a pen and notebook. "Could you sign this for my kid? He really likes you."
He pauses, glances at the boy, and his eyes turn slightly red. "His dad used to bring him to boxing matches. It's just a shame his dad isn't around anymore..."
That one sentence, combined with the young man's gentle, melancholy face, deepens the impression Alex has of Chu Yan:
A beautiful young Oriental widower, forced by poverty to raise his child alone in a foreign country.
Especially that pair of pleading, pitiful eyes. They completely awaken Alex's protective instincts.
He hands over his private business card along with the signed notebook.
3.
Over the next six months, Alex gives Chu Yan's kid free boxing tickets while taking extra care of Chu Yan himself.
He helps pay for Chu Yan's education, buys him all kinds of expensive clothes and food, and sends him pocket money on a regular schedule every week.
Later, in a large, steamy suite, Alex gently bites the little mole on Chu Yan's waist and says hoarsely:
"When you graduate, move in with me. Bring the kid too. I'll treat him as my own."
But on the day Chu Yan graduates, all Alex gets is a chilly farewell message: "A dream on the pillow, now let's each take care."
Alex looks up the phrase in a Chinese dictionary and finally realizes that Chu Yan got what he wanted from him and then kicked him to the curb.
And the kid wasn't even Chu Yan's.
When Alex tries calling him, his phone is switched off.
Alex's teeth ache with anger, and he can't help laughing in disbelief.
4.
After returning to China, Chu Yan lands a job at a well-known foreign company thanks to his impressive resume.
Six months have passed since he said goodbye to Alex. Chu Yan is sure Alex must have forgotten him by now. Besides, the Pacific Ocean lies between their countries, so Alex is unlikely to track him down here.
Until one day, a secretary from the CEO's office comes to find him. The newly appointed heir apparent doesn't speak Chinese very well, and they hope Chu Yan can teach him.
Chu Yan readily agrees. The moment he steps into the top-floor office, Alex catches him and forcefully presses him against the desk.
In the dim, hazy light, Chu Yan's white shirt is disheveled, and a pair of strong hands dig hard into his waist.
Alex grits his teeth beside his ear, a low laugh in his voice as he threatens:
"Darling, are you only trembling now?"
"When you taught me Chinese, you never taught me the words 'use someone and cast them aside.'"
[Note: The gold-digger character is only for the plot. In real life, work hard and keep your feet on the ground!]
