Lu Jian is a Chinese student studying in the UK. Life abroad is hard enough as it is, and the UK is famously a culinary wasteland, so Lu Jian is often hungry and never gets enough to eat.
One day, he went to a famous temple in Chinatown to pray, hoping the gods would send him someone who could keep his stomach full.
After that, Lu Jian discovered that every night after nine, he would transmigrate across the ocean into the home of Qin Muye, the man he'd secretly loved for years, and turn into a tiny person just five centimeters tall.
Lu Jian has a crush on Qin Muye, who's exceptionally talented, aloof and abstinent, with a broad, muscular build and a shirt always buttoned right up to the top. He was a famous heartthrob in high school, making countless boys and girls fall for him.
Back then, Lu Jian was Qin Muye's nondescript roommate. He planned to confess, but Qin Muye was famous for being homophobic and had already turned down plenty of guys.
Lu Jian was already rather socially anxious, and he was afraid that if he confessed, they wouldn't even be able to stay friends. So he completely gave up on those romantic fantasies.
After they graduated from high school, they went their separate ways and became little more than friends who occasionally liked each other's posts.
Lu Jian quietly kept an eye on Qin Muye's social media.
Qin Muye studied astrophysics at university and was the physics department's prized student, but he loved cooking in private. He often made all kinds of delicious food at home and had five million followers on D Station.
Lu Jian was one of those five million followers. Every time he watched Qin Muye cook, he was practically dying of hunger.
That night, Lu Jian transmigrated into Qin Muye's kitchen. As a tiny person just five centimeters tall, he found himself in front of an enormous bowl of chilled cherry cake.
Tears of happiness and emotion welled in Lu Jian's eyes. He pounced on it and gobbled it up.
He'd only sneak a tiny little bite. Qin Muye wouldn't notice, would he?
After stuffing himself, Lu Jian patted his round little belly and felt completely content.
The gods had answered his prayer. Qin Muye really was the person who could keep his stomach full!
For the next two months, Lu Jian secretly mooched food and drink while figuring out how his transmigration worked.
His arrival point was completely random. Sometimes it was the coffee table, sometimes the gym, sometimes the top of a robot vacuum, and sometimes even the bathroom!
Then one time, he happened to transmigrate into the bathroom just as Qin Muye was taking a shower.
Through the billowing, milky-white steam, the man's eight-pack abs appeared and disappeared from view. Lu Jian hid in Qin Muye's pajama pocket, sticking out a head no bigger than a fingernail, and bashfully gazed at him, thinking:
"Muye is such a disciplined person. So many years have passed. Some of our old classmates have gone bald, and others have gotten fat, but he still looks just the same."
Lu Jian had always thought Qin Muye hadn't noticed him. After Qin Muye fell asleep, Lu Jian secretly crawled out of the pajama pocket and onto his pillow.
He admired Qin Muye's sleeping face for a while, then got carried away by his good looks and wanted to steal a kiss on his nose.
Unfortunately, his sneaky little move was spotted by Qin Muye's white cat.
Before Lu Jian could steal his kiss, the cat mistook him for a mouse and picked him up in its mouth.
The cat kept meowing at Qin Muye as if proudly presenting him with a prize.
In the chaos, Lu Jian didn't want Qin Muye to discover him, so he struggled desperately to get free. When he did, he nearly fell into a trash can twenty centimeters tall, equivalent to twenty meters in the world of tiny people.
A pair of warm, strong hands caught Lu Jian.
Still shaken, Lu Jian looked up and met the man's dark, inquisitive eyes.
Qin Muye had actually woken up!
Caught red-handed, Lu Jian was mortified. He imitated a mouse and squeaked.
He wanted Qin Muye to think he was a mouse and throw him into the trash can. After all, he'd transmigrate back when morning came.
But Qin Muye just smiled and rubbed Lu Jian's messy hair with his index finger.
"You little rascal. You've been living in my house for so long. Don't you think it's time to come clean?"
Qin Muye had noticed Lu Jian's presence a long time ago.
One white rabbit candy disappeared from the fridge every day.
The various candy jars on the coffee table showed signs of being rummaged through.
The robot vacuum kept being used in the middle of the night. Every morning when Qin Muye woke up, it was down to one bar of battery.
Qin Muye thought a mouse had gotten into the house. He put out rat poison, but it didn't work.
So he checked the security footage and discovered that a tiny person was behind it all.
Up close, Qin Muye realized that this tiny person looked exactly like the person he'd secretly loved in high school.
Qin Muye had always had a crush on Lu Jian, but Lu Jian was terribly shy, timid, and didn't like talking to people. Qin Muye was afraid a confession would scare him, so he kept his feelings to himself.
Qin Muye followed Lu Jian on Instagram and often saw him posting about the delicious food he wanted to eat. So Qin Muye started learning to cook and became a food blogger, hoping to get Lu Jian's attention that way.
Now, although Qin Muye had no idea Lu Jian could become this tiny, he could finally feed him openly and without hiding it.
Now that Lu Jian had come to him, Qin Muye didn't want to let him go so easily.
If Lu Jian was telling the truth and would transmigrate back to the UK during the day, then Qin Muye would fly to the UK to find him.
Later on.
Qin Muye's followers across the internet surpassed ten million.
For the first time, Qin Muye went live.
All his followers were watching him cook.
Then, of all things, a slender, handsome young man appeared behind him. The man rubbed his sleepy eyes and called his name. "When will the pumpkin and lily congee be ready?"
Qin Muye affectionately pinched his cheek. "It'll be ready in a little while, honey."
The young man grumbled impatiently, "Then hurry up, okay?"
"Okay."
The famously aloof food blogger had a wife?!
The whole internet went wild.
