Watching the Moves [Entertainment Industry] [Wuxia]

(The entire novel is written in advance and will be posted all at once. The numbers are guaranteed to be terrible, so there won’t be any featured spots. Sigh...)

(Commissioned character art is on its way... including Shen Cheng’s wuxia look in the story and the drama.)

[Barista-turned-wuxia-film actor & screenwriter who painstakingly polishes her scripts~]

Lin Qi moves to an old city to write a screenplay and happens upon a coffee shop with a name she can never remember.

At a window seat, she writes a fight scene and mutters to herself, “A left hanging strike? No, no. He should use a right piercing palm.”

A quiet voice from the corner corrects her: “The left hanging strike doesn’t come from the shoulder. Your footwork is wrong.”

She looks up and sees Shen Cheng for the first time: a barista who can make latte art, brew pour-over coffee, and wield a spear.

He has spent his whole life learning martial arts, yet has only found a place for himself behind a coffee counter.

Until one day, she writes him into her story.

He becomes the protagonist of her screenplay, and she becomes the signal that heralds her arrival in his life.

Reading guide:

1. Advance notice! Chapters marked with * contain a lot of wuxia moves and are being set aside for later revisions to those moves. I made up the martial arts in this story by watching wuxia films and inventing moves, so there may be some major inconsistencies. I don’t have the ability to get everything right on the first try, so I’ll need to revise these parts gradually later. This won’t affect your enjoyment of the novel.

2. Guishan and The Song of the False Dragon are wuxia short stories written in a literary style. They update very slowly and will only be posted once complete. You can find the full stories in my author’s collection.

3. Please leave lots of comments! Comments give me more motivation! Help me become a perpetual motion machine!!!!

Theme: Wuxia is so darn good
