Green Plum Soda

At seventeen, Chunyu spent her days being ostracized and transferred from one school to another.

The person who arranged her transfer was her father's employer.

Chunyu was deeply grateful and treated the employer's eldest son with great respect.

She knew that she and Lu Qingye lived in two different worlds.

He was a carefree young man with outstanding grades, the center of everyone's attention, the very definition of a gifted son of Heaven. She was just an ordinary student forced to transfer halfway through the year: quiet, dull, and completely invisible.

If not for her father's job, he might never have known she existed.

And even then, it was only in the way one might know about a lamppost by the road or an old tree at school.

But one unspeakable presence became part of her youth.

Whenever she thought of him, it was like biting into a green plum:

sour, with just a hint of sweetness.

She had never asked what university he planned to attend, so she never expected to meet him at the same one.

At the time, he'd just impatiently cut off an old classmate from high school who was trying to chat him up, his face as dark as the sky before a storm.

Chunyu stopped too. The courage she'd mustered vanished, and she quietly turned to leave.

But she'd barely taken a few steps when someone suddenly grabbed her hand.

She turned around. The young man had moved close and was holding her hand tightly.

"Why are you running away when you see me? What does that mean?"

Of course you don't remember.

When Chunyu was sixteen, spring rain fell on her hair, and a first flutter of the heart was hard to bear.
