Ye Long is troubled.

Abnormal phenomena have been cropping up lately, and he works at the Abnormality Management Bureau. He has no choice but to work around the clock, leaving him less and less time to spend with his younger brother, Li Fanling.

He thought that Li Fanling, already a high school student, could manage his own life. Then his brother's homeroom teacher called to say he was sleeping in class, damaging school property during breaks, and even skipping school.

Ye Long figures the kid is under too much pressure from high school and needs someone to talk to. But with the situation growing urgent, he can only deal with the troublemakers around them first and protect his sweet, introverted younger brother, an ordinary person.

Li Fanling is worried.

Recently, he has been pulled into another world for adventures every night at midnight. Lack of sleep, difficulty controlling the powers he has gained, and being unable to return from the other world in time for school have left him exhausted.

He had no intention of making his ordinary office-worker brother worry, but then he unexpectedly discovered that the two worlds would merge before long, and monsters from the other world would invade their peaceful society.

To protect his brother when that day comes, he decides to work around the clock to grow stronger.

One day, Ye Long senses energy from the other world descending upon Li Fanling's school. He quickly breaks away from his patrol and rushes to the scene.

A huge rift in space-time opens above the school, but Li Fanling is nowhere to be seen.

Shocked, furious, and worried, Ye Long evacuates the students, then stands guard beside the rift, ready to act at any moment.

After waiting for ages, a familiar-looking boy finally tumbles out.

The boy is covered in blood and grime, kneeling on the ground with a half-finished peace treaty between the two worlds in his hands. Trembling, he says he needs to find the world's guardian to sign it.

Ye Long drops to one knee, takes the pen from his hand, and starts writing.

The boy stares at him blankly.

"...Ge?"

Ye Long tosses the pen aside, holding the treaty in one hand and scooping the boy into his arms with the other.

"It's signed. Let's go home."

They are not related by blood.
