Yao Yu, the grandmaster of talisman arts, was breathtakingly beautiful, yet the foremost practitioner of the Path of Ruthlessness.
He died midway through the war between immortals and demons. Reborn in a new life, he discovered that a thousand years had passed and the world had changed beyond recognition.
His legends were everywhere in the cultivation world, while the pitiful boy he'd once refused to take as a disciple had become someone people dared not speak of openly.
...What had happened?
Yao Yu had deliberately brought Fu Linshu back with him.
During a chance divination, he had foreseen that he was destined to die.
Fu Linshu was weak now, but would eventually awaken his demonic blood and attack the immortal sects. He would overturn the immortal realm and kill Yao Yu first.
If Yao Yu killed him outright, some other disaster would take his place. The fact that he couldn't divine what it would be made it even more troublesome.
So he decided to keep Fu Linshu by his side and see what kind of calamity the boy would bring about.
He never expected that the bright young man who had always refused to cultivate the Path of Ruthlessness would awaken his demonic blood after Yao Yu's death and wipe out every evil creature.
Then he turned around and cultivated the Path of Ruthlessness, guarding Yao Yu's tomb for a thousand years under the name of his disciple.
Later, Yao Yu bound him tightly with talismans, tying his hands high above his head to the bed.
Standing by the bedside, he curled his lips into a smile, his eyes gleaming.
"What do you call me?"
The young man lowered his lashes, but still called him by name.
"What, you won't admit it to my face?"
He leaned down and pinched Fu Linshu's cheek. "Let me hear you say it."
The young man's face flushed red. Before long, he gave in and said softly:
"Master."
Fu Linshu once thought he would die in the capital.
His life would last barely a dozen years, and the path to immortality was a distant world beyond his reach.
Then a man with flowing robes took him by the hand and led him into a paradise he'd never seen before.
At first, Fu Linshu was uneasy, but the man cultivated the Path of Ruthlessness, and his smile was often gentle and composed.
Beneath the blue sky, surrounded by the mortal world,
he began to feel grateful that Yao Yu hadn't taken him as a disciple.
But after the man died, Fu Linshu still became his disciple.
Until, a thousand years later, at the immortal sect tournament, Fu Linshu sat in a seat of honor and saw a figure in red, bowstring snapping in the wind.
At one glance, he knew it was him.
① Older seme and uke, Yao is the seme and Fu is the uke.
② The uke was taken away by the seme as a boy. He wasn't made a disciple, but their relationship was much the same. After the seme died, the uke called himself the seme's disciple.
