The Rest of Our Days

When she found him, he was covered in wounds and had lost all his memories.

In a mountain village, as they spent their days together, his gaze toward her gradually changed.

But one day, he suddenly disappeared, leaving behind a promise he never fulfilled.

When they met again, he was the son of a powerful family, while she was still trapped in the dreams of the past.

"Come back with me," he said, in a tone that brooked no refusal.

She took a step back and smiled distantly. "Young Master Ye, we're even. It's been that way for a long time."

He locked her in a gilded cage, but she escaped without looking back.

Then, on a night of torrential rain, he abandoned everything and chased after her. Gripping her wrist, he rasped:

"You run once, I'll chase once. You'll never get away from me, not in this lifetime."

I forgot to mention: the setting is an alternate Republic of China era, and both leads are virgins.
