Synopsis:
[Flirtatious heiress VS devoted, unhinged guard dog]
[Plays dumb to catch the tiger VS sweet on the outside, dark on the inside]
1.
Nan Yuzhi, the young lady of the Nan family, is a regular on the covers of financial magazines, yet is known in high society as a "pretty ornament."
In the magazines, she wears swaying red dresses and casts alluring glances, but every gesture reveals her arrogant stupidity. What no one knows is that this "pretty ornament" heiress has another identity: the youngest authentication expert at an international auction house. She specializes in identifying fakes for the wealthy. Even fewer people know she's doing all this for the inheritance.
At an auction, Nan Yuzhi wears a mask and lightly taps a priceless antique vase. "A fake, just like that illegitimate older brother of mine. Both are low-class trash that should never have seen the light of day."
As she turns to leave, the sound of the vase shattering comes from behind her.
Holding her phone, she replies, "Nicely done. We've exposed another scam."
2.
Shen Shi is the Nan family's most capable bodyguard. He always wears a black suit, and the taciturn man always keeps three steps behind the young lady.
But no one notices the gun calluses on his fingers, and no one realizes he disappears for two hours every night.
Until one rainy, cold night, Nan Yuzhi catches him snapping an enemy's neck with one hand. Blood splashes onto the tie she gave him.
Leaning against the doorframe, Nan Yuzhi swirls her glass of red wine. "Wow, Shen Shi. You're pretty good."
Shen Shi calmly wipes the blood from his fingers. "Not as good as the young lady's acting."
3.
On the day the family inheritance is about to fall into Nan Yuzhi's hands, she is kidnapped.
In an abandoned attic, her illegitimate older brother grabs her by the collar and threatens her. "Give up the inheritance willingly, and you'll get to be the mistress of the Nan family."
Nan Yuzhi parts her red lips. "If I give it up, do you dare take the position?"
As soon as she finishes speaking, Shen Shi walks over the blood-soaked floor, his gun still smoking. "Have you had enough fun, Young Lady?"
Nan Yuzhi lets go of the blade hidden in her sleeve and laughs boldly. "You took so long to come save me."
Shen Shi grips her chin and kisses her. "You risked your life to test me, so don't blame me for overstepping my station."
After that day, the entire Nan family board of directors is replaced. The new president, Nan Yuzhi, appears at a press conference with the bodyguard who has followed her for ten years on her arm. When reporters press her about their relationship, Nan Yuzhi twirls her diamond ring and smiles. "As a top authenticator, I have to personally verify that my true love is the real thing."
